COMMUNITY IMPACT
Based on a local needs assessment, the United Way of Greater Williamsburg has identified six focus areas for best supporting our community. In order to effectively meet these needs, we collaborate with 20 local nonprofit health and human services agencies.
NEED HELP?
If you or someone you know is experiencing a challenging situation and needs assistance – we can help. For 62 years the United Way of Greater Williamsburg has made caring about our community a priority, and that means you!
YOUR CARING IN ACTION
The United Way of Greater Williamsburg maximizes your contribution by investing in local, results-driven programs and initiatives that focus on long-term solutions to our community’s most pressing needs. Since 1949, our accountability standards have been based upon models of transparency and efficiency.
UNITED WAY DAY OF CARING
Looking for an opportunity to give back? Get involved with this year’s Day of Caring! As an individual or a business, teams can volunteer their time for hands-on-work within the community for this special day.
It really touches you to see so many people in the community band together on Day of Caring with such excitement for a worthy cause. Spending time with friends, and truly giving back to the place I call home.–Tiffany Lindsay-Morris, 2010 Day of Caring Chair
By pooling your contributions with those of your neighbors through the United Way Campaign, you not only have the power to change lives in an immediate and lasting way – you have the power to change the future of the community we share. –Bob Graves, 2009 Campaign Chair, 2010 Board President
We believe that United Way’s performance in fund-raising is a vote of confidence from our donors for the IMPACT we are making in our Community.–Marshall Warner, 2010 Campaign Chair, 2011 Board President
