The United Way Community Resource Center stands as a direct service and referral center for community programs, resources, and information in the Greater Williamsburg area that can help homeless, impoverished, and vulnerable people achieve crisis assistance and sustainability.

  • Those seeking assistance to improve their lives


How We Help:

  • Clients are seen individually by a case advocate by appointment only
  • Providing some basic needs (based on donations)
  • Case advocates help to clarify needs and provide appropriate

      • Eviction Prevention
      • Basic Necessities (food, clothing, diapers, toiletries)
      • Monthly Food Distribution
      • Virginia Employment Commission Workforce Site
    • Referrals to
      • Community Agencies

      • Emergency Shelters
      • Housing Programs
      • Other Homelessness Services
      • Veteran’s Assistance Programs
      • Financial and Credit Counseling

What You’ll Need:

  • Valid Government Issued ID
  • Proof of Williamsburg Residence
  • Proof of Need for Assistance (Eviction notice, Disconnect Notice, Rental Agreement)
  • Proof of Employment and/or Income
  • Knowledge of Household Expenses
