As more projects become available, or change, they will modified or added to the end of the list (deadline for projects was July 15, but some are still pending and some may be changed)

There are some projects available for those businesses who are not available to volunteer their time on Day of Caring.  For more information, please call Zena at 253-2264.

If you know of a need in the community that could become a Day of Caring Project, or if your business wants to volunteer for their own project (for example - an employee has been out of work due to surgery and needs some light house maintenance, or a co-workers grandmother is in a nursing home that could use some entertainment for a few hours) PLEASE call or email Zena at 253-2264, myallz@uwgw.org

If your company cannot donate the time of employees to work on a project but could make a
materials donation, please let us know.

Donations (paint, plants, mulch, etc.) to support projects will be
greatfully accepted.

CLICK HERE for printable sign up form to fax or mail to us.

Volunteer Team Leaders and individual volunteers can stop by the United Way Office on Monday, September 8, Tuesday, September 9th or Wednesday, September 10th between 10am and 4pm to pick up their t-shirt(s).  Shirts will be signed for and volunteers of the team will be directed to contact that person to collect their shirts. If you are unable to pick them up, they will be available at the morning rally on September 11th.

All volunteers are invited to the Day of Caring Kick-Off Rally at 8:00a.m. on September 11th, at the Music Theatre of Williamsburg in Norge (next to the Candle Factory).  From there, the volunteers will depart for their projects at the local United Way agencies and other community and government service organizations in James City County, City of Williamsburg and Upper York County.

All volunteers are then invited, as special guests, to the Community Service Building,
312 Waller Mill Road, at 5:00pm to share their day's experiences. Outback Steakhouse
and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream will provide dinner and dessert for all the volunteers.

(If you do not receive a sign up form in the mail, please email or call ZENA at 253-2264)
